This is the very first entry of the Triangle District Resource Center's new community blog. We will post information about our activities and projects here. We hope that eventually members of our community will become contributors to this blog as well, as part of a media literacy class we will soon be offering at the Center.
This is the first trickle of our presence on the internet. We are currently working on developing a complete website for the Center, and we have a brand new Facebook group you will find here.
We've just started a new permaculture garden, and last Sunday we dug the first beds in our Community Center's backyard. It was an amazing experience to behold-- people of significantly varying age, cultural background, language, and experience all working together to create a garden. It was one of the limited times I feel like I have ever experienced true community-- We interacted simply, happily and supportively as human beings across generations, cultural experiences and backgrounds to create something positive for our community. It was amazing.
